New litter born!

Six new kittens were born during the night and into this morning, and the other cat should have her kittens very soon. They say it looks like she probably will be having 5-6 kittens also. When they are 3 weeks old they will be taken to the vet to confirm their gender and have a check up, and then families can start picking which one they want.

There were 10 kittens born on November 15 and 19 (two litters), and they are going to the vet for their check up next week, and then they will be chosen from.

I found out we are number 14 on the list of families waiting, and there is a possibility that the first 10 people do not want one of the kittens born in November, depending on their gender and color preferences, so it is possible we could end up with one of those, and hence gets to take home a kitten sooner than we thought.

All in all there will be about 20 kittens and we are 15 people in line waiting, so it should work out good. I am not super picky, but I would prefer a female (since that would round out our household to three males and three females) and I just love the brown tabby mackerel. Silver tabby is OK too. Heck, I am open to most colors. They do come in everything from all white to all black to everything in between.

Man, I guess breeding can be big business, imagine 20 kittens at $850 a pop! And that is just their fall litters... In Sweden a Siberian kitten sell for about $1500!
