Saturday

Last night did not go exactly as I had planned, but it all worked out good anyway.

First up Sarah had her party at Bostock's Tae Kwon Do School. She was so excited! This is how her skeleton costume and make up turned out:

Ken and I had planned to go and have dinner and see a movie while she was at the party, but Ken has a bad cold, so we decided to just do the dinner and then go home and take the dogs for a long walk and relax until we had to pick her up.

We had an awesome Mexican dinner at one of our favorite Mexican places, Mexicali's. Their home made salsa is to die for!

When we was almost home we were waiting for the light to turn green at an intersection when we all of a sudden got rear ended by another driver. She was looking for a place and had been distracted, and just as the light turned green, she just saw green and went. We had not actually started moving yet, since there was a few cars in front of us that had to move first.

Luckily it was just a fender-bender, nobody was hurt or anything.

She wanted to just exchange insurance information and be on her way (which is legal in Florida), but we did not want to end up having any problems with the insurance company, so I called the police, which came pretty quickly.

The woman got a ticket for "careless driving" and we got a report with all the info. Today I called her insurance company, and an insurance adjuster should call me back early this upcoming week.

The best part is she only damaged our rear bumper, and I already had an ugly bump on it. Now she will have to pay for having the entire bumper replaced, and we get rid of that other, old bump at the same time! So we are pretty happy about the outcome, actually. Hey, we get a new bumper out of it!

The woman was a little distraught so I comforted her, tried to relax her a bit. After all, no big deal, just a fender-bender. She couldn't understand why I was so nice to her, but come on, why would I be mad at her? It wouldn't change anything. It could happen to anyone, it happened, lets just deal with it.

Being mad wouldn't do any good, and she looked a little scared, so I just figured the right thing to do would be to make her feel better.

The entire thing was handled by the police and us very quickly and then we were on our way.

We were suppose to have dinner at a friend's house tonight, but we will have to reschedule since Ken still feels like crap. He even decided to stay home and rest today, no computer even! That means he is really not feeling good. At least he still have no fever, he is just super congested, the poor little thing... :-)

I am going to take Sarah to a small trick-or-treat party at our local grocery store this afternoon. They tend to do fun things for kids, she had a really good time at their Easter party, so why not?

I think we will also carve some pumpkins today. And I am hoping to get a little work done as well as cleaning and laundry. So nothing special going on, but still very busy!

And tomorrow night, as soon as it gets dark is the BIG TRICK-OR-TREAT for all kids here in the US, of course. Sarah can't wait!

KRam!
