Friday

Yesterday Sarah had her blood test. It was at the All Children's Hospital, but at a smaller location in Sarasota.

It was such a great experience, she actually asked if we can go back there again! Wow! She was so brave and sat still as a statue when they put the little needle in. She said it felt kind of like someone pinching her with their nails, not too bad at all.

The personnel was awesome, you can tell they deal only with children there... And after she was done and had her little cute tiger bandaid on, they opened the door to the humongous price closet, where she got to pick out a toy (I think that is the reason she would like to go back again, of course).

We got news that the MRI is going to be done on Friday, September 3, in two weeks. (Wait, it is September in just two weeks? Where did all these weeks go?!)

Today I have a few work projects to do, nothing too pressing. I think I will just putter around the house for most of the day, cleaning and getting ready for school on Monday.

Yesterday we got to meet Sarah's new teacher, Mrs. Jones, for the first time. She seems really nice, and the entire class room was decorated as a dog pound, with dogs everywhere. Sarah got to pick out her own seat this year, and she picked to sit with three other girls. She is so tired of always having to sit with boys that mess with her all the time. So that was great!

Unfortunately her class room will be in one of the portable buildings, away from the main buildings. It is both good and bad: the class room is a little bigger, they can make a lot more noise without disturbing anyone, on the other hand they will get soaked when it rains (which it does quite often here in Florida).

She will just have to keep her foldable little rain jacket in her back pack and have some backup shoes in there as well. The walk ways at school turns into rivers when it rains, and it wouldn't be much fun to walk around in wet shoes for the rest of the day... She can have her Croc's Mary Jane sandals in her pack, they are lightweight and also water proof!

There were all kinds of activities going on at school last night. There was a pasta dinner thing that we did, bake sale and uniform sale. This year they have come up with a new, simple school t-shirt in a bunch of fun colors that can be worn as a uniform top. A lot better than the polo shirts that can be kind of warm and not so comfy.

I got six t-shirts, but there was one color, the one Sarah really liked, they were out of, so we had to order that for later. What was the color, you ask? Royal blue with text in yellow, the Swedish flag colors, which Sarah was very excited to wear! She loves Swedish stuff! So two in that color are on order for later... :-)

The new shirts, minus the "Swedish colored" ones...
It will be pretty comfy for her with the knitted skorts (skirts with built in shorts) I have gotten for her, she can't stand regular khakis and chinos, she is a comfort creature for sure!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
