Now I feel very proud ... and jealous since I don't live in Sweden and never have experienced being a mom in Sweden! According to Save the Children (Rädda barnen) Sweden is the best country in the world to be a mother!!!
125 countries were ranked in the annual Mothers Index based on 10 indicators. The Scandinavian countries took home the top spots, Niger came in last. US came at a shared spot with the UK at number 10.
Startling enough the differences for a mom in Sweden and one in Niger are huge. A Swedish mom is expected to live until she is 83, and she has an average of 17 years of education. A Nigerian mom can only expect to live until she is 45 and has only a meager 3 years of education.
